Please tell me you don't have a shoebox filled with receipts that you hand over to your CPA during tax time! Nobody's got time for that... especially when there is an easier, and more cost effective way to keep track of your receipts. (And by cost effective, I mean that you're not being charged extra by your tax preparer to go through this box of receipts!!)
While there are plenty of paid services that can organize your receipts, a FREE way to do this is to take photos of each receipt and upload them to a Google Folder. You can then have a file for each month and organize them in the cloud, so you don't have to worry about tracking them down in case of an audit.
BUT... if you have a QuickBooks Online Subscription, there's an even BETTER way!
With the QBO mobile app, you can easily snap a photo that can match up with the downloaded transactions from your bank feed. Make online purchases? Don't worry about printing those out... just forward a copy to the special QBO email you can set up in your account, and it will also match up with your bank feed.
Not sure how to do this? Watch my video below for a more detailed explanation of how to take advantage of this free feature with your paid subscription! If you don't have a subscription yet, you can receive 30% off your first SIX months when you sign up for QuickBooks Online with this link!
Your bookkeeper/CPA will thank you.
